Next Application Deadline

Both summer and winter athletes, able-bodied or with disabilities, are eligible.
If you are an American athlete training for the Summer or Winter Games and are in need of financial assistance, America for Gold encourages you to apply. We work hard to support as many American athletes as possible.

Applications
If this is your first time applying for a grant, please submit the completed application along with all of the items in the Checklist below. If you have applied for a grant in the past you are still required to submit a letter from your NGB or Coach stating you are still in good standing, still training for the Games, and your financial situation has not changed by the deadline.
Please apply if you have been a past recipient-each athlete can apply twice a year.
Checklist:
- Application-all areas complete
- Two letters of reference
- A 4-by-6-inch, color photo of yourself training or in competition copied to disc in jpeg. (photo will not be returned)
- Copy of most recent W-2
- Pay-it-Forward must be completed with your application, this is a one-time effort and you receive 85% of this money back.

Eligibility
- Applications will be accepted from any athlete who is training to represent America in international competition.
- Applications will be received by mail through the America for Gold office in Colorado Springs, CO.
- Applications will be accepted in the category “individual.”
- All previous recipients are eligible to apply for each new application deadline.
- Prior to the announcement of successful applicants and distribution of funds, all information provided by the applicants is confirmed with each appropriate governing organization.
- Successful applicants will be notified by phone and mail prior to posting of all recipients on the AmericaForGold.org Web site.
- The amount of funds released per application period is dependent on funds raised through America for Gold fundraisers, public donations, corporate and other sponsors.
- Applicants will be accepted from any active national team athlete who is training to represent America in Vancouver and London. Applications will be accepted from individuals.
- All applications will be reviewed subject to the criterion established by the America for Gold Board of Directors. These criterion include, but are not limited to:
- The applicant’s current World and national rankings
- The applicant’s expenses vs. income
- Completion of the application (including all required reference letters)
- Pay-it-Forward: Each athlete must sign up a minimum of 10 new donors to donate $5 a month for one year or a one-time donation of $60, 85% of these funds go directly back to you whether you receive a grant or not. This is only required if it is your first time applying for a grant and is not necessary when reapplying.
- Athletes can print and distribute our convenient EZ Giving Enrollment Form [PDF], allowing supporters’ donations to directly deposit into the America for Gold Fund monthly.
